New Year's Resolutions

Happy 2019! I hope you all had a very fun and safe NYE. This was my first year not spending NYE in Miami, and although I had major fomo, I had such a great NYE in LA. I lowkey *hate* NYE, but I’m glad I broke the cycle and did something different being that I’m in a new city - perfect way to start the new year!

To be honest, I rarely ever make resolutions for the new year and if I do, I push them to the side (NO BUENO!). But, I’m making a change this year and am going to really focus on mine (I have several) and hopefully some of these can inspire you all. Let’s get started!

1. Be More Decisive

If you know me, then you know I am the most indecisive human ever. Legit with EVERYTHING. It annoys me, it annoys my friends, it annoys my family, and it probably annoys anyone I come in contact with while making any sort of decision. Whether it’s deciding what to wear, where to go, what to eat, what to tell someone, I CAN NEVER MAKE A DAMN DECISION. So, my number one resolution is being more decisive! No more relying on others to make decisions for me.

2. Read More

I made this mine last year, and it only lasted two months - huge fail. This year, I’m on a mission to read at least one book per month. I re-read The Secret (HIGHLY recommend - it’s truly life changing and I love to reread it every couple of years) and Awaken The Giant Within (I LOVE Tony Robbins and this book was a game changer for me). I love books that are motivational and are actually going to benefit myself and my life. SO, I love anything that’s focused on manifestation, personal growth, mindset, etc. So far, top of my list is Girl Wash Your Face and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck. If you have any recommendations, PLEASE send them my way! I’m going to be doing less TV binge watching (just started Power this weekend, and I’m almost on season 3 so once I’m done, I’m picking up a new book and not a new show.)

3. Less UberEats + Workout More

I eat pretty healthy during the week - mainly all plant based meals. But, on weekends I like to chill and not worry about cooking so UberEats is my goto. NO MORE! I’m off to a good start because I made some bomb ass meals this past weekend and didn’t have to dish out $40+ on good ole’ delivery.

I’ve fallen off the workout bandwagon - mainly because there’s no stairmaster (only machine I used to ever workout on - I’ll do about 45 minutes on a level 7-8) in my new apartment building. So my goal is to get my ass on the treadmill (least favorite machine) and walk at a high, steep incline for about 20 minutes then grab my yoga mat + bands and get a solid 30 minute workout in, 3x a week.

4. Stop Feeling Bad

I have a really bad habit of always feeling bad for others when I shouldn’t and saying yes when I really don’t want to in order to avoid hurting their feelings or coming off as rude. Whether it’s saying yes to a lunch or dinner I don’t even want to go to, saying yes to plans with someone I don’t really care to surround myself with, or saying yes to something I know won’t benefit me in any way, shape or form. I’ve realized now, it’s totally ok to say no and they’ll get over it. Right? Right.

5. YouTube

This has been a been a high request from my followers for some time now and I’m going to finally start a channel and deliver some beneficial videos for you all. I know I had mentioned a few months ago I was going to film a skincare video - I actually filmed it, but didn’t LOVE how it turned out and being the perfectionist that I am, I am going to re-film it (with my new ring light I got for Christmas yaaaas) and have that up by the end of the month. I’m also going to be doing a hair tutorial and makeup tutorial as well as these are ALWAYS being requested! I gotchu guys.

Those are my top 5 resolutions for 2019 and I am determined to stick to them. I’m curious to know what’s on your resolution list, so leave me a comment letting me know! Hope this year brings you all everything you’ve ever wanted. I have a feeling we’re going to kick ass in 2019!
